Day 05 – God’s Promises and New Beginnings

Mark 5
God often begins His greatest work with ordinary people who are willing to trust Him. In Genesis chapters 12 to 15, Abraham is called to leave what is familiar and to believe promises that seem far beyond reach. Psalm 148 widens the view, calling all creation to praise the Lord whose power fills heaven and earth. In Mark chapter 5, that same power is seen up close as Jesus heals the sick, frees the oppressed, and brings life where there was none. Together, these passages invite us to trust God’s promises and place our hope in His power.
Taken together, these passages show us something important. God reaches out with promises and invites us to respond in faith, trusting His power and compassion even when the situation feels impossible.
What does this mean for us today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by these readings.
First, pray about one area where you sense God may be asking you to trust Him more. Name it honestly before Him.
Second, write down one promise from God that you find difficult to believe. Ask God to help you trust it, even if your faith feels small.
Third, take one small action today that shows kindness or care to someone in need, reflecting the compassion of Jesus.
As you step back into the rhythm of your day, remember this. God’s calling is always supported by His grace, and His promises are sustained by His power, not yours.
