Scripture in Action
Day 6
Journey through Abraham's trust in God's timing with Hagar and Sarah's story, witness God's covenant promises, and explore Jesus' expanding ministry in Mark 6. Discover how God works through human imperfection and learn practical ways to trust His timing while actively participating in His work, even when circumstances seem impossible.
Day 06 – Faith and Kingdom Expansion
Genesis 16–18
Mark 6
Waiting on God is often harder than trusting Him in theory. In Genesis chapters 16 to 18, Abraham and Sarah grow tired of waiting and try to move things forward on their own. God meets them again and reminds them that His promises are not delayed or forgotten. In Mark chapter 6, Jesus continues His work even when He is rejected. He sends His disciples out and provides for crowds with limited resources. These passages show us a God who is steady, patient, and always at work.
Across these readings, one message rises to the surface. God works according to His perfect timing, often in unexpected ways, and calls us to trust Him when waiting feels difficult.
So what might faithfulness look like today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.
First, identify one area where you are waiting on God. Choose patience today instead of worry or control.
Second, use one ability, resource, or opportunity you already have to help someone in a practical way.
Third, pray by name for one person who needs encouragement or provision, and entrust them to God’s care.
As you go into the rest of this day, hold on to this. God is never late. Even when progress feels slow, His work is moving forward with purpose.
Thank you for joining me today. Stay faithful in what God has placed before you, and trust His timing. Until tomorrow, may perseverance strengthen your faith.
