Day 36 – Holy Rest and Obedience
Leviticus 8–11
Psalm 110
Hebrews 4
Holiness is not meant to exhaust us. It is meant to shape us. In Leviticus chapters 8 to 11, priests are set apart for sacred service. Clear distinctions teach Israel how to live as God’s holy people. These instructions are detailed, yet purposeful. Psalm 110 speaks of a priest-king appointed by God, ruling with authority that does not fade. In Hebrews chapter 4, the focus shifts to rest. True rest is found not in striving, but in trusting what God has already done. These readings show that obedience and rest belong together.
As we hold these readings together, one truth becomes clear. God invites His people into holiness that leads to lasting rest.
What does this mean for us today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by these readings.
First, obey God in one clear area today without delay or quiet resistance.
Second, set aside intentional time to rest. Step back from control and entrust unfinished matters to God.
Third, examine one habit or daily choice. Ask whether it draws you closer to God’s holiness or slowly pulls you away.
As you go into the rest of this day, hold on to this. Rest is not the absence of obedience. It is the fruit of trusting God enough to follow Him fully.
Thank you for joining me today. Live set apart and rest in what God has already accomplished. Until tomorrow, may faithful trust bring steady peace.
