Day 63 – Courage, Obedience, and Commitment
Joshua 1–4
Psalm 143
Luke 14
New beginnings often feel uncertain. In Joshua chapters 1 to 4, God calls Joshua to lead His people forward. The instruction is clear. Be strong. Be courageous. Stay rooted in God’s word. As the people step into the Jordan, the waters part only after they move in obedience. Progress follows trust. Psalm 143 echoes this need for guidance. It is a prayer shaped by dependence, asking God to show the way forward. In Luke chapter 14, Jesus speaks about the cost of following Him. Commitment must be whole, not divided. These readings show that moving forward with God requires more than intention. It requires trust in action.
As we hold these readings together, one truth becomes clear. God leads His people forward through courage, obedience, and complete commitment.
What does this mean for us today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by these readings.
First, identify one step of obedience God is asking of you and act on it today.
Second, strengthen your courage by recalling one promise God has given you and holding onto it.
Third, let go of one attachment that keeps your commitment to Jesus partial or hesitant.
As you carry this into your day, remember this. Courage grows when you step forward in trust, not when you wait for certainty.
Thank you for joining me today. Move ahead with confidence in God’s presence and follow Him with a whole heart. Until tomorrow, may courage guide your next step.
