Explore the power of covenant faithfulness as we journey through Joshua's farewell address to Israel, the psalmist's gratitude for deliverance, and two dramatic responses to Jesus in Luke's Gospel through Joshua 22-24, Psalm 116, and Luke 19.
Day 68 – Faithful Choices and Gratitude
Joshua 22–24
Psalm 116
Luke 19
Faith grows through choices made over time. In Joshua chapters 22 to 24, the people are reminded of all that God has done for them. His faithfulness is clear. Joshua calls them to decide whom they will serve. It is not assumed. It must be chosen. Psalm 116 responds with gratitude. The writer remembers God’s deliverance and gives thanks with a full heart. In Luke chapter 19, we see both repentance and resistance. Zacchaeus responds with joy and change, while others hesitate. These moments show that grace invites a response.
As we hold these readings together, one truth becomes clear. Gratitude and commitment flow from remembering God’s faithful deliverance.
So how do we respond today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.
First, identify one area where you need to renew your commitment to God today.
Second, thank God specifically for one way He has delivered or helped you.
Third, act faithfully in one responsibility that has been entrusted to you.
As you continue through your day, remember this. Faithfulness grows when gratitude shapes your choices and your direction.
Thank you for joining me today. Choose to serve God with a willing heart and let thankfulness guide your obedience. Until tomorrow, may your choices reflect His goodness.
