Day 72 - Justice, Mercy, and Sacrifice

Judges 9–11
Psalm 17
Luke 23

Human failure often brings painful consequences. In Judges chapters 9 to 11, leadership breaks down. Ambition replaces wisdom. Rash decisions lead to loss and sorrow. Yet even in the middle of confusion, God still hears the cries of His people. Psalm 17 turns toward God with confidence. It asks for justice and protection, trusting Him as the righteous judge. In Luke chapter 23, we come to the cross. Here, injustice reaches its peak, yet mercy is poured out. Jesus suffers willingly and speaks forgiveness in the midst of pain.

These readings draw us to a powerful truth. God’s justice is fulfilled through mercy, and His mercy is revealed through sacrifice.

So how do we respond today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.

First, bring one situation of injustice or confusion honestly before God in prayer.

Second, choose mercy over retaliation in one difficult relationship.

Third, thank Jesus for His sacrifice by living obediently in one specific way today.

As you go through your day, remember this. When you trust God’s justice, you are free to live with mercy.

Thank you for joining me today. Hold on to God’s righteousness and reflect His compassion in your choices. Until tomorrow, may mercy shape your response and guide your steps.
