Acts 8

God often begins His work in quiet and unexpected ways. In 1 Samuel chapters 9 and 10, Saul is chosen and anointed as king. He does not appear extraordinary at first. Yet God sees what others do not. He calls, equips, and sets Saul apart for a purpose. This calling carries responsibility. It must be met with humility and obedience. In Acts chapter 8, the message of Jesus spreads beyond familiar places. Persecution scatters believers, but God uses it to advance His mission. Philip listens and obeys, bringing good news to someone searching for truth.

Across these readings, one message rises to the surface. God calls and equips His people to serve His purposes wherever He sends them.

So what might faithfulness look like today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.

First, reflect on one gift or ability God has given you and consider how to use it for His purposes.

Second, say yes to one opportunity today that allows you to reflect Christ to others.

Third, trust God’s direction in one situation that feels unexpected or unfamiliar.

As you step back into the rhythm of your day, remember this. God’s calling often unfolds in ordinary moments when you choose to respond with obedience.
