Day 88 – Refuge, Leadership, and Unity

1 Samuel 21–22
1 Chronicles 5
Psalm 52
Acts 15

God often shapes leaders in hidden places. In 1 Samuel chapters 21 and 22, David is on the run. He is not yet on a throne, but in caves and uncertainty. Yet even there, people gather around him—those who are distressed and overlooked. In his weakness, he becomes a refuge for others. Psalm 52 offers a sharp contrast. It exposes the danger of trusting power, influence, or deceit. True security is not found there, but in the steadfast love of God. 1 Chronicles  5 traces the history of tribes, showing both God’s faithfulness and the consequences of turning away from Him. In Acts chapter 15, the early church faces deep disagreement. Instead of division, they listen, discern, and return to the truth of grace. Unity is not forced; it is formed through humility and shared trust in God.

Together, these passages reveal a steady truth. God shapes leaders and communities through humility, truth, and grace-filled unity.

So how do we respond today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.

First, turn to God as your refuge in moments of uncertainty.

Second, support someone who feels overlooked or burdened.

Third, choose unity over argument by listening with grace.

As you move through your day, remember this. God builds strong people and healthy communities not through control, but through humility and trust in His grace.

Thank you for joining me today. Stay grounded in truth, lead with compassion, and pursue unity wherever you can.
