Day 89 – Trust, Mercy, and Guidance

1 Samuel 23–24
1 Chronicles 6
Psalm 54
Acts 16

Trust is often revealed in the choices we make under pressure. In 1 Samuel chapters 23 and 24, David lives under constant threat, yet he does not act impulsively. He seeks God’s direction again and again. When given the chance to harm Saul, he refuses. He chooses mercy over revenge, trusting God to handle what he cannot. 1 Chronicles 6 traces the line of those set apart for worship, quietly reminding us that God establishes His purposes across generations. Psalm 54 expresses confidence in God as a helper and sustainer, even when danger is close. In Acts chapter 16, Paul and his companions are redirected in unexpected ways. What seems like interruption becomes divine guidance, leading to new lives being changed.

Together, these passages reveal a steady truth. God guides those who trust Him and honors mercy over revenge.

So how do we respond today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.

First, ask God for guidance before making a difficult decision.

Second, choose mercy in a situation where you would normally defend yourself.

Third, trust God’s timing instead of forcing an outcome.

As you go through your day, remember this. When you release control and trust God’s direction, you make room for His wisdom and His work.

Thank you for joining me today. Walk in trust, act with mercy, and let God lead your way.
