Day 91 – Trust, Fear, and Faithfulness

Acts 18

God calls His people to trust Him fully, even when fear tempts them toward compromise. In 1 Samuel chapters 26 and 27, David spares Saul’s life and shows trust in God’s justice, yet soon afterward fear drives him into Philistine territory. His story reminds us that even faithful people can falter under pressure. In 1 Chronicles chapter 8, the lineage of Saul shows that God’s purposes continue through complex histories and imperfect leaders. In Acts chapter 18, Paul faces opposition but also receives encouragement from God to keep speaking and remain faithful. Together, these passages show that faithfulness requires ongoing trust, especially when fear and weariness set in.

Across these readings, one message rises to the surface. Trust in God must be renewed continually, especially when fear threatens faithfulness.

How do we live this out in simple ways? Here are three practical steps for today.

First, identify one fear that is influencing your decisions more than trust in God. Name it honestly before Him.

Second, reaffirm your commitment to act with integrity in one challenging situation today.

Third, ask God for renewed courage to remain faithful where you feel tired or discouraged.

As you step back into the rhythm of your day, remember this. Fear can quietly shape your choices, but trust must be chosen again and again. God is near, and He strengthens those who continue to rely on Him.
