Day 96 – Reverence, Order, and Courage

2 Samuel 6
1 Chronicles 13
Psalm 60
Acts 23

God’s presence is not something to handle casually. In 2 Samuel 6 and 1 Chronicles 13, David desires to bring the ark to Jerusalem. His intention is good, but the approach is careless. When God’s instructions are ignored, the result is sobering. The moment becomes a pause—a necessary reminder that God’s holiness calls for reverence and obedience, not familiarity. Psalm 60 reflects a different kind of moment, where defeat leads people to seek God again, recognizing that true help does not come from human strength. In Acts chapter 23, Paul stands in the face of opposition. In the midst of uncertainty, the Lord strengthens him with a clear promise that his mission is not over.

Together, these passages reveal a steady truth. God’s holy presence calls for reverence, obedience, and courageous trust.

So how do we respond today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.

First, identify where familiarity may have replaced reverence in your walk with God.

Second, align one habit more closely with what God has shown you in His Word.

Third, stand firm with courage in a place where your faith is being tested.

As you move through your day, remember this. God’s presence is a gift, but it is also holy, and it invites both careful obedience and deep trust.

Thank you for joining me today. Walk with reverence, follow faithfully, and stand with courage.
