Day 98 – Promise, Rest, and Trust

2 Samuel 7–8
1 Chronicles 17
Psalm 132
Acts 25

God’s promises stretch beyond what we can see. In 2 Samuel chapter 7 and 1 Chronicles chapter 17, God makes a covenant with David, promising a kingdom that will endure far beyond his lifetime. David does not respond with pride, but with humility. He recognizes that everything begins with God’s initiative, not human effort. Psalm 132 reflects on this promise and points to a deeper truth—God chooses to dwell with His people, and in His presence there is rest. In Acts chapter 25, Paul faces uncertainty about his future. Yet he entrusts his situation to God, making decisions without fear, knowing that God’s purposes are still unfolding.

Together, these passages reveal a steady truth. God’s promises provide rest and invite us to trust His sovereign plan.

So how do we respond today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by today’s readings.

First, write down one promise from God that brings you peace.

Second, release one unresolved situation into His hands.

Third, thank God for His faithfulness instead of striving to control outcomes.

As you move through your day, remember this. God’s plans are not rushed, and His promises are not uncertain. They invite you to rest and trust.

Thank you for joining me today. Let go of what you cannot control, hold on to what God has spoken, and walk forward in quiet confidence.
